What is a Loofah?
The Loofah plant belongs to the gourd family and is related to squashes and cucumbers. It grows on vines and often varies in length and shape.
In the beginning, it is similar to a cucumber or zucchini. Fun fact, the Loofah is actually edible and can be cooked and consumed in its early stages, specifically when it is still soft and green.
As time goes by, it then matures and starts drying, creating this interior fibrous structure. Peeling the Loofah is typically done once it is brown, indicating that it has dried and is ready to be harvested to become into this amazing exfoliating multi-tool.
